Superstructure Work – Structural Engineering & RC Frame Construction

Superstructure work refers to all the reinforced concrete (RC) and loadbearing elements constructed above ground level, forming the primary structural framework of a building. This stage includes the casting of columns, beams, floor slabs, stairs, and non-structural RC elements, all of which are essential to ensure the vertical and horizontal stability of the structure.

At AGC, we provide full structural design, detailing, and construction services for superstructures using cast in-situ concrete, hollow-core (Hordi) slabs, and engineer-approved layouts. Every component is designed to comply with Eurocode 2 and UK Building Regulations, and delivered with supporting documentation, including structural calculations, bar bending schedules, and formwork layout plans.

🔧 Key Components of Superstructure Work:
3.01 – Columns (Vertical Load Transfer)

Reinforced concrete columns designed to support multi-storey loads
Formwork, steel fixing, and casting executed to exact tolerances

3.02 – Beams (Lateral Support & Load Distribution)

Structural beams cast in situ to support slabs and walls
Beam reinforcement detailed to handle torsion, shear, and bending

3.03 – Slabs (Floor Systems)

Solid concrete floor slabs for residential and commercial projects
Designed to support imposed and dead loads per engineer specification

3.04 – Hordi Slabs (Voided Slabs / Hollow Core Slabs)

Lightweight slab system using void formers or precast units to reduce dead load
Installed with structural integration into beams and walls

3.05 – Stairs (Reinforced Concrete Staircases)

Cast in-situ stairs designed for residential blocks and commercial cores
Integrated with landings, walls, and slab edges

3.06 – Non-Structural Elements

Includes upstands, kerbs, planter bases, parapets, and RC lintels not directly loadbearing
Cast to support architectural or service elements
